The Story of Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa

The story of Nin Jiom is rooted in an enduring tale of filial piety.

During the Qing Dynasty, a young man named Yang Xiaolian devoted himself to caring for his seriously ill mother, who had suffered from a persistent cough for many months. Moved by his devotion, the renowned Qing Dynasty physician Dr Ye Tian Shi entrusted him with a treasured herbal cough syrup formula. After his mother recovered, she encouraged Yang to share the remedy with others so more families could benefit from it.

He named it Nin Jiom, meaning “In Memory of My Mother”, in honour of her love and his filial devotion.

Years later, the business was entrusted to Chinese physician Tse Sui-Bong, founder of today’s Nin Jiom Medicine Manufactory (H.K.) Ltd., where this heritage continues today.

Dosage and administration

Take orally. Swallow slowly, or mix with warm water before consumption.

Adults and children over 10 years of age

1 sachet (15ml), 3 times daily.

Children

3 times daily, with the dosage adjusted according to age:

6–10 years: ½ sachet (7.5ml) each time

3–5 years: ⅓ sachet (5ml) each time
